Power corridors are tricky for cities to utilize — homes can’t be built here, so they usually lie vacant, useless, and ugly.
We took this space and, for a fraction of the cost of most other city amenities, created a heavily used park that serves locals on a daily basis.
This project was funded by Maverik Adventure’s First Stop and Meta (Facebook), who made corporate donations to fund the redesign and rebuild of Eagle Mountain Bike Park. Christian approached both and worked directly with them to coordinate the allocation and usage of funds. This was done in partnership with 501(c)3 Lake Mountain Trails Association, Utah’s premier non-profit trail organization.
For many years Utah County lacked a bike park with terrain that caters to not just entry-level and intermediate jumpers, but advanced jumpers as well. The Eagle Mountain Bike Park was built to answer this need. Not only is it the preferred location for coaches teaching entry-level riders to jump, but it also houses the only set of true black diamond-rated jumps in the valley.
This park exceeds usual bike park safety standards through careful speed design. A user can drop in to any skill level line and, without any reliance on braking or pedaling, safely clear every jump in the line. This helps usher riders to their next skill level by letting them focus on their jumping technique instead of simultaneously worrying about speed.
